Hey, so fashion is a thing that exists, particularly at the moment in Paris. It’s autumn couture time in Paris, despite the fact that it’s actually summer there right now. I feel sorry for the models. I spotted a few pics around the place and was inspired to continue fashion blogging. This mostly entails me posting my favourites (and least favourites) with commentary.
All photos are swiped from Style.com and it’s worth going and having a look at the whole shows, so I’ll include links for each section. They also post their own reviews and let’s face it they probs have more fashion cred than me. But still. Pretty things are pretty.
So it begins…
Showtime again! To be honest I’m not the biggest resort fan. It’s all beachy and windswept and look-at-me-with-my-tasteful-straw-hat. I’m more of a winter/stunning gown girl meself. But I have found some nice stuff in my travels.
Mmmmmm… chocolately-brown-leathery goodness. I love this colour and this look. I want a skirt/shorts this colour.
I love this shape and the cut-out look in the metallic material creates a really nice effect.
I WANTS IT. I can’t figure out whether it’s just one piece, or two layered over each other, but it is perfection.
I’m not sure why I like this, or even if I like it. I’m still figuring it out. It would look amazing on Blake Lively though.
I love the structured-corset bodice look on the dress and the soft, muted colour of the jacket. Hate the fringe on the shoes.
It’s a swimsuit that looks like a cardigan. How could I not love it?
I have always loved those colours together and I want that bag like nobody’s business.
So floaty and wispy and pretty 🙂 Love that pink.
This looks like it moves beautifully, and that’s fairly impressive for a still photograph.
I love this painty, screen-printy silk look and those colours are perfect together.
Finally, some pretty dresses! Love the shiny, ruffled black.
IF ONLY I wasn’t short and nowhere near rich enough, I would have both of these and wear them every day. Like a boss.
The reds are my favourite, they’re so so bright, neon-red; which I’ve always loved. This is also the reason I want these shoes:
Left to right: Betty Jackson, Betty Jackson, Costello Tagliapietra.
Left to right: Costello Tagliapietra, Costello Tagliapietra, Jenni Kaye
Left to right: Jenni Kaye, Jenni Kaye, Luca Luca
Left to right: Luca Luca, Nicole Miller, Nicole Miller.
All Prabal Gaurung.
Left to right: Wayne, Wayne, Wes Gordon.
I especially love the L’Wren Scott dresses.
Left to right: Adam, Charlotte Ronson, L’Wren Scott
All L’Wren Scott
Left to right: LAMB, LAMB, Peter Som, Prabal Gurung.
Left to right: Rebecca Minkoff, Rebecca Taylor, Rebecca Taylor.
I cannot believe that I’ve never heard of this dude, ’cause he is awesome. Pop-culture + brights + an eclectic mix of stuff. Essentially this dude is Tavi in dude-form.
I’m not certain whether I love it or hate it, but it certainly makes an impression.
I love the bright colours and the bold prints.
Not sure about the fluffy stuff…
And just when you though it couldn’t get any better…
John Galliano’s been sacked from Dior for being anti-semitic. What the actual fuck? Have we discovered the Mel Gibson of the fashion world?
Seriously guys, this is weird. Dior without Galliano.
I would like to start out by saying that all of the comic-book-coloured plaid is amazing, and every time I see it I imagine a friend of mine saying ‘LESBIANS’ (you know who you are).
My two favourite shades of the season, all warmly wrapped up together in wonderful picnic blanket plaid-y goodness. I actually think the dress on the right is a picnic blanket.
If one were to wear the dress on the left with the shoes on the left and the jacket on the right (if it is a jacket, I’m still not entirely sure), one would look awesome.
I clearly like the print here, as I’ve got it twice. Prefer the cut on the left, but I love the shoes on the right.
I ❤ that jacket. I’m not sure whether I love that dress or hate it, but it’s certainly getting some strong emotions from me.
When I think St John I think little dinky suits which are worn by politicians’ wives. Or by politicians. The Emily Gilmore-type look. I was very pleasantly surprised by their fall collection.
It’s Lily Van Der Woodsen chic. Yet another example of how leopard print can be classy. I love the grey ensemble as well, especially the gloves.
Sparkly skirt! Sparkly skirt! With leather gloves! Caitlin likey!

Seriously beautiful models and great simple shapes.
Pair pretty pink dress with pretty black jacket and we’ve got perfection.
I hate Rachel Zoe as a person. I think she’s a massive part of perpetrating the ridiculous standards of beauty which do a great deal of harm to a lot of people. S it kind of bugs me that I love some of her line so much. I feel better when I think about how amazing some of these clothes would look on people of all shapes and sizes (and how much Ms Zoe would disapprove).
SHINY. I want the top on the right so much And the shoes. And on the left: SHINY AND BLUE!
Gorgeous colour on those pants and I think the number of camel coats I’ve been posting says something about how much I want one.
SOOOO pretty. Military style buttons/sleeves + pouffy wee skirt + brocade = ridiculously cute.
